Hi All, I purchased a Century EVC 130 motor from Inyo Pools a little over a month ago. Installed the motor and freeze protection would not kick on regardless of temp below 39f. Did all the troubleshooting to no avail and Inyo sent me another motor. Second motor has the exact same issue... I also purchased a Jandy iqPump01 as it is compatible via the r465 port. Wired the Jandy controller up per the manual, set dip switches, etc. and while the Jandy operates correctly per the app, it has not control over the pump and the pump just runs the preset schedule regardless of settings. I contract Century and was told they have no customer support for homeowners and Inyo stated they do not talk to them either. Has anyone experienced a similar issue as I would love for the motor to work out? Also, if not, what would you recommend as a replacement? OG motor I am replacing is a single speed 1hp Hayward Super Pump. Thanks in advance for the help!

Did you set both the DIP switches on the motor to on, and select schedule D on the motor to activate the Century Connect Automation mode?

And also make sure that your motor and manual say that they support Century Connect. There was a period when the Vgreen motors first came out several years ago when they did not support the Century Connect Automation.

Appreciate the feedback, yes both DIP switches are in the on position, but per the manual you just power cycle the the pump once after setting the DIP switches to enter into Automation mode then connect the automation. I read about the issue several years ago, but assume this brand new motor would have that issue resolved. Given that the freeze protection doesn't run as well, I can only assume it is an issue with the board in both of these motors.

You got me thinking... Just checked the manufacturing code for my new motor & shows it was made in 2021 which I am sure is the issue. Though it was weird it didn't come with a RS-485 plug connected to the motor. Sending back and buying elsewhere to hopefully get a new motor that is compatible.

Yes, it sounds like that motor is from before Century Connect was released.

Those motors supported RS-485 communication, but their commands used a MODBUS protocol rather than any of the protocols used by the pool automation systems.

You want to make sure that you see the Century Connect logo on the box of the replacement motor.
