Normal for skin to feel dry / clogged after swimming?

My water parameters are all within normal limits tested by machine at pool store.

When I get out of the pool I feel like my skin pores are clogged and cant sweat. I have this weird dryish feeling that is really hard to describe (Obviously ...lol)

Anyway, is there a way to "soften" the water in my pool?

Pool store testing is not the way to find out. You need to test the water yourself with one of the test kits we recommend. Your PH or Alkalinity could be off. CYA could be off and that would make chlorine feel more harsh. You could also have high CH (calcium hardness.) My CH prior to draining was so high that soap had trouble cutting through it after a swim. Read through the following links for explanations.

The pool store machines are not very good for much. Lots of people come to TFP for that reason and discover testing the water themselves with a reliable test kit can helps solve those issues.

Spot,

That is why a lot of us own saltwater pools...

When I get out of my saltwater chlorine pool, I feel like I just got out of a shower.. When I get out of a standard chlorine pool, I feel like I need to take a shower...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Then I would suggest that your CH is much higher than you think. Again, do your own testing with kits we recommend and then post those results here for them to be evaluated with proper solutions for you. This is what you will not get from a pool store that only wants to sell you their panacea products.
