Newbie need help with Hard plumbing a Hayward Power flo LX

I have a Power flo LX pump and on the strainer, it looks like the ball valve is permanently glued into the inlet on the strainer. I don't see any threads and it will not twist off. Here are some pictures of the strainer and ball valve. Any Ideas on how to hard plumb this?

If you have enough material on the pump end, saw it off flush. The outside of the pump snout should be the next size up PVC pipe. (Measure carefully before cutting!) Stick a coupling on it and reduce it down where it's convenient.

I know somewhere I've also read about carefully warming the joint with a heat gun to soften things up top remove the glued fitting. Might be risky on the pump , though. If it deforms. it's junk.
