Just picked up a Dolphin Nautilus 99996323 pool robot at a price that was too good to pass up ($0). The previous owner purchased it new ~5 years ago and mentioned replacing the motor last year.
I have a Polaris 280 pressure side cleaner that has performed very nicely in our pool since I replaced the hose and performed a general tune-up earlier this year. Seems to do a good job with both small and large debris (of which our pool collects plenty). My only minor complaints are that it doesn't scrub the pool walls, so I end up brushing them manually once a week, and the ancient PB4-60 booster pump uses a lot of power (although, unless I'm doing the math wrong, it amounts to less than $10/month in electricity costs).
The Dolphin is on her maiden voyage now and seems to been effectively climbing the pool walls and scrubbing both the walls and floor. From the discussions of robot lifespans elsewhere on this forum (which have scared me off purchasing one to this point), I'm assuming this robot is in her twilight years. Any tips for prolonging lifespan? I plan to use no more than 1-2x a week, clean after each use, store in the garage when not in use, and only run when chemicals and chlorine levels are in check.
