Hi - I'm building a new pool - 22' X 44' including spa. 36,000 gallon rectangular pool. Trying to decide between different finish types. At the moment Signature Matrix is included in the contract but my wife and kids don't like the rough nature of the finish. So I'm trying to decide between basic marble plaster or Wet Edge Primera Stone, which is polished and smooth. Only problem is the cost:
  • Signature Matrix is a $9,800 up-charge from plaster (this was included in the contract)
  • Prism Matrix is an additional $5,500 - $6,500 up-charge (depending on color) on top of the $9,800 for Signature Matrix
  • Primera Stone is an additional $7,300-9,200 (depending on color) on top of the $9,800 for Signature Matrix
So if we go Primera Stone, we'll be looking at an additional $17,100 - $19,000 above and beyond the cost of marble plaster. This seems way to high based on what I've researched. I'd welcome anyone's thoughts on if this seams right or not.

Thanks

Welcome to TFP.

Yeah, that looks high. Prices vary widely largely based on what a builder feels like his area will pay. Our advice is get 3-5 quotes if you can find that many contractors in your area.

That’s A pretty big pool you are getting. I don’t think that’s too far off. Maybe a little high. I have the Primera Stone Sapphire Treasure but my pool is smaller. I will tell you I would NEVER change from the Primera Stone. Not sure if you have a spa but the Primera Stone is awesome for the spa!!

What colors are you looking at in Primera Stone? We have decided on Primera Stone also. The Luna Quartz is what is included in our build and the upcharge for Primera Stone is in line with what you quoted. We just can't decide on a color.
