I’m shopping for a new pool heater and I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Raypak 406. It will need to be propane as NG is not available. My question is whether the Cupro nickel heat exchanger is worth the premium. Choices are:
360k btu cupro nickel $3999
336k btu cupro nickel $3599
406k btu copper $3699
Location is upstate New York
Pool is 18x36 with 8’ deep end vinyl liner
I have a solar cover
I use liquid chlorine and follow the TFP method, use minimal chemicals, keep the chlorine and acidity in normal range and never had an issue with algae or imbalances.
Goal is to be able to open the pool mid to late April and close in September/October
