New liner appears to be separating at seam - expected?

Local pool store installed a new Latham liner at the end of November, 2024.

Recently while servicing the pool I noticed an area where the liner is sagging down. Upon inspection it seemed like there were two issues:
1. Detaching - looking downward, you can see the wall behind the liner (easier to see in person)
2. Vertical seam starting to separate

Here are a couple of pictures:

Installer contacted Latham and a leak detection company. Regarding the vertical seam separation, both Latham and the leak detection company said it's not actually a seam separation, and that it's expected to look that way. For the detaching, the leak detection company said that can happen sometimes when the liner starts coming off the track, so they pulled it back up and reattached.

Are those accurate responses and actions in terms of the vertical seam and separation from wall? Visually it looks like that seam would keep separating downward. Any long term concerns with the liner already coming off the track? Can that just happen sometimes and doesn't matter as much that the liner was just installed?

Welcome top TFP.

Liners sometimes come out of the track and needs to be stretched back into place.

All you can do is keep an eye on that seam and see if it opens more. Do you have in writing that you put Latham on notice about the problem?

@ajw22 thanks for your response!

I have not been in contact with Latham at all. After noticing the issue I reported to the installer, and via email they shared that response from Latham. It wasn't a direct quote or forwarded message from Latham, just a as a statement from the installer.

From your response here, sounds like I should email Latham support directly and ask myself.

Put the Installer and Latham on notice in writing and then monitor the seam. Document its current status and any changes with pictures and measurements.
