Hello, I’m in need of some guidance. I need to replace the pentair quad 80 cartridge filters x 4. They are not cheap in price. Any idea of possible options for the OEM 178655 filter. Please advise. Thank you

I have not purchased the filters, but have purchased regular cartridge filters from this vendor. And a few other things. They have always shipped quick and you get what you expect.
Thank you for the response. Also. I’m a bit confused with my current pentair quad 80. I was once told that I can run the filter with the current cartridge cylinder filters it has with or without DE as an option. Is that true.
DE cartridges are just to hold the DE in place.. So if they are not ripped and letting DE back into the pool, you won't see much of a difference with new carts..
That’s were I’m confused because I see the steps with residue and not sure if that’s DE going back into the pool. I have a Polaris vrxiq robot cleaning my floors on a daily schedule. I thought that what I saw was dirty DE settling on the corners and high steps. How can I rule out a bad filter. I inspected the filter and didn’t see any visible tears but it is yellow brown in some areas of the filter media. Please advise. Thank you
I'm not all that sure... Finding ripped grids on old DE filters was pretty obvious. Not sure it is all that obvious on DE cartridges. I guess you could use a ladies stocking and see if you can capture anything coming back on a return.
Are you sure you are not seeing algae?
Ten years is a pretty good run, so it might just be best to replace the cartridges, just to make sure.
