Need to replace a STA-Rite Industries SUNLITE #05602-XXXX Pool Light

I need to replace a STA-Rite IND. Sunlite #05602-XXXX Pool light. The one in the pool must have a short and has never worked since I bought the house a year ago. I have confirmed the issue is with the light itself and not the GFI. I have a 30k gallon pool with only 1 built in light, so I like something bright with hopefully some color options. I know this light uses a smaller niche which limits my options on replacement lights. I'm open to staying A/C, going DC, LED and even wonder if a larger niche-less light could be used.

The niche is located in the deep end of the pool under the diving board.

Thanks

Hey grmarsh,

In a similar boat as you. I have a Sunlite 12V 75 Watt Halogen. The guys at Inyopools.com helped me out. Patrick on their chat window helped me greatly yesterday. Here is what I was able to find just in my research in a few minutes.

From my view, the main part of the part number is the first 5 digits. The following four digits have to do with the length of the cord. 150 Ft, 100 ft, 75ft etc. Looks like your version is "replaced" by part number 05607-XXXX.

Sta-Rite 05607-2030 Sunlite 250 Watt 120 Volt Light (Replaces 05602-0509) 30 Ft. Cord 05607-2030, 58-102-1605

Search for: 05602 - INYOPools.com

As far as an LED option, the guy at inyopools.com made a good point. If you go with the LED and the board fails, you have to replace the whole thing. If a bulb goes in the older version (what we have lol.) you have to replace the bulb only (technically).

Good luck.

I am in the same boat as you are. I have a burnt out sta rite sunlite. Cracked lens and by the time I replace the lens gasket and bulb I am in the territory of the complete pureline LED light from INYOpools. I am thinking of upgrading to 12V lights and perhaps going colored, both are an added expense, but ,might as well as well since I am in there right?
