Hey everyone, I’m new on here and wish I found this site last year. Reading some of the threads on here it seems I have a ton to learn. We had our pool installed in May /23 and had a great year. Getting ready to open in a few weeks and I’ve been going through the checklists and noticed that it is recommended that my salt cell be replaced every 6 months. Is this correct ? My cell had a little bit of calcium buildup on it from the season. I never had any issues with chlorine levels, The pool company closed our pool and left the cell in my shed. The replacement cost is $1100 in Canadian dollars. Am I replacing this cell every year when we open ? Just wasn’t expecting to replace this thing so often. Anyway any help advice would be great.

Hey Mike and Welcome !!!

It's all laid out in the link below. You don't want to replace the *mineral* pack every 6 months. Leave it depleted. The SWG side should be good for years with such a short season.
