Natural pool design with pvc liner and chlorine

OK, after years of Intex AGP, I want to build my own larger pool, and I favor the designs and looks of natural pools, however the wife is afraid of swimming with tadpoles and will only accept chlorinated water. I am after some insight that I have been unable to find looking through the internet.

  1. I want the flexibity of shapes from a natural pool design that allows me to have surrounding beach entry with sloped sides.
  2. I found a pvc pond liner that works with chlorine I can use.
  3. my questions is..if I decide to incorporate stone/block in the design that would sit on top of the pvc liner, will the stone/block work with the chlorine, do i dry lay them or use motar/stone adhesive, and if I use stone/block on the floor will it be a maintenance nightmare?

Welcome out of lurkerville! :)

This advice is based on several koi ponds that I have built in the past. EPDM liners are better than PVC. I always dry laid the big rocks around the edges. I never put gravel on the bottom because it just holds debris. You'll have to vacuum it if you do. You may find better info on koiphen.com, they've got a good DIY pond construction forum.
