Greetings and Salutations !

I have a silly question ... I bought Natural Chemistry PHOSfree Commercial Strength 3L back in 2016 and I've never used it.

So now I can't remember why I bought it ... BUT ... according to my latest pool water test, I need to add Natural Chemistry Pool Perfect.

My question is ... what is the difference between Natural Chemistry PHOSfree Commercial Strength and Natural Chemistry Pool Perfect ?

Can I use the Natural Chemistry PHOSfree Commercial Strength for the Natural Chemistry Pool Perfect ?

Sure, you can use it.

However...

Since you must be getting your water tested at a pool store to be told you need to use a phosphate remover (and specifically the phosphate remover sold by said pool store) the easier solution would be to do your own testing and ignore the pool store sales tactics. That would negate the need for phosphate remover entirely.

Your call though, best of luck whichever path you take.

In addition to the fact that you don't need phosfree or pool perfect, I had bought a bunch before going the TFP way, I kept using it once in a while just because I had it. However it made my pool cloudy (it's over a year old now) the last time I used it and it's never going in there again. Now what to do with these other bottles..... :uhh:

So, five years ago you asked the most important question - What is the best test kit out there

Did you ever buy a test kit?

Mixing pool store advice/testing with TFP methods is just another recipe for disaster.

If you have read around here much you have probably seen that not much credence is given to pool store testing. While you would think that a "professional" would be the best, unfortunately in most cases it is quite the opposite. Between employees who blindly trust the word of chemical sales representatives and high school kids working in the pool store for the summer you end up with poor results from their testing. In my case two different pool stores told me my CYA was "fine", around 70 or 80. When I tested myself I found it over 200.

To follow the pool care methods taught here you need to arm yourself with the knowledge and tools necessary to care for your pool.

The knowledge is condensed in the Pool School link at the top of every page. It is a great community here, but we do ask that you read and try to understand the information being taught. Questions are always welcome and folks will try to direct you and teach you the methods.

The tools are not limited to the brushes, vacuum hoses and other stuff you use around the pool, but include the most important item – an accurate test kit. I recommend you buy a TF100 test kit and at least include the XL option. That will give you what you need while you are clearing the pool, and probably enough reagents for a couple of years normal use.

Now is the time to make a decision, keep following the pool store and dropping lots of money (like for Natural Chemistry PHOSfree Commercial Strength) there or follow our methods.

It's your decision. Pool store or TFP. We don't have a magic bullet other than the best pool care chemical there is, chlorine.
