Mosquito larvae in pool

Hello everyone. Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but I'm a first time pool owner. We have a summer waves above ground pool and we keep it covered when not in use. We had alot of rain this week and when my husband and I went to remove the cover I let my side go. That's when he told me the larvae were on it and he was trying to prevent them from getting in the pool. (It's all my fault) I there something we need to add to the water to kill them? The filter is running , I've added chlorine and we scooped any debris (all done about 2 hours ago) we could see. Is it safe to swim Now? I know I sound ridiculous but we have 3 little ones and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

As long as you have the proper chlorine / CYA ratio as shown here [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA], all is good.

The chlorine will kill the larvae.

The pool is safe to swim in when your FC is at or below shock level based on your CYA, you can see the bottom of the pool, and your pH is between 7.2 and 7.8.

Take care.
