Anyone have any experience with MicroGlass? Pool Plaster Hardener | Pool Plaster preservation | MicroGlass LLC

I'm redoing the plaster, tile & coping of my pool in a few months and my pool company just sent a message that they are now offering MicroGlass to help extend the life of plaster. Seems it is applied on top of the new plaster after the acid wash to make the plaster stronger/harder & more resistant to stains. The plaster I'll be using is NPT QuartzScapes. Adding the MicroGlass would increase the overall project cost by about 6%, so I'm curious to hear if anyone has used it and would recommend it or not.

Skip the magic solutions whose only verifiable effect is to lighten your bank account.

They lost me claiming to prevent calcium nodules or efflorescence. Calcium nodules is caused by delamination which a coating applied to the surface cannot prevent. Similarly efflorescence is caused by water wicking from the gunite and coming out through grout areas.

@onBalance what do you think?

Microglass for pool plaster is a new product. As far as I know, it doesn't have a long-term history of whether it is effective or not.
I suggest that some of the claims made about the product's benefits are greatly exaggerated or false.
As Allen stated, it will not prevent calcium nodules which are caused by delamination. Interestingly, if small nodules do eventually form from shrinkage cracking, this product can be applied after the fact and then prevent nodules from re-forming in those cracks.
The company seems to be trying to infer that various plaster defects are caused by improper water chemistry and balancing, which would be false. Improper water chemistry does not typically cause random problems in plaster as is suggested by that company.
It is true, however, that aggressive water will slowly and uniformly etch a plaster surface, and I believe that this product may help to prevent etching.
