Measuring skimmer baskets for replacement

My skimmer baskets are falling apart, I measured them to buy new ones but I’m overthinking it again.

I measured the top outside diameter of the basket, including the lip and its 8 1/8”.

I’m guessing I need an 8” basket as I only see 8 and 8.5” for sale.

For reference, here are all of the dimensions.

8 1/8” top
5 3/4 bottom
5 1/4 tall.

I saw some Pentair and Sta-RIte ones that have built in handles for 20 bucks.

Any suggestions for a good replacement?

You can take it to a pool store to measure it against a new one. Just don't buy it there

Val-Pak seem to make the best baskets: Val-Pak Products – Manufacturer of Quality Swimming Pool Products Since 1979

It's easiest to find the right basket if you know your skimmer manufacturer and model number -- it might be stamped on the underside of the skimmer lid.

The Skimmer Weir had a number on it, 516252, google foo found Bermuda Gunite Skimmers.

I then googled and found Pentair 516112 Skimmer basket. Thanks
