So, we've decided to go with marker tiles edging our steps. We're using 2x2 NPT Lightwaves Aquamarine for the waterline. I think I want to use two rows of the 1x2 tile as the marker tile. It's a geometric pool so we'll have straight lines. It should look similar to a recent post here:
...but my question is about our benches. I want to do the same on our benches...but what about the side of the benches? Should we consider putting marker tile so that if you are swimming with your eyes open underwater you can clearly see the side of the bench? We have one length where the bench ends in the middle section of the pool -- in other words, we have benches running from both ends toward the middle but then there is a gap where there is no bench. I'm wondering if that could be dangerous because you may think you're swimming to the wall where the gap is and instead come up quickly on a section of bench. I'm also thinking the stairs could pose a similar risk.
I'm a bit worried about too much of that tile as it is...it is super-blingy. Maybe we just use individual 2x2 tiles as markers every couple feet along the walls with benches? Or maybe we use the 1x2 but only where the benches stop and we go vertically going down to the floor or something?
Photos may help...one shows the stairs and the other shows the bench that I'm talking about...

I'm sure I'm over-thinking this...I just get nervous because our primary users are youngish kids and oldish grandparent, most of which are pretty clumsy and careless.
