Main Drain Cover Replacement - HELP!

Hi, My main drain cover broke and I am needing to replace it. However, was told that due to the fact that the cover is discontinued, we will have to drain the pool and then change out the main drain "neck" for a new one with a cover. Something about this just seems unnecessary (I might be wrong as I'm clearly not a pool expert) and just seems like there could be a universal style drain cover that could fit my dimensions. I'm including a picture of the drain cover and the drain at the bottom of the pool for reference. The pool is about 15' by 30' and ranges from 3ft to 6ft. Thanks in advance for your help!

As stated above, DO NOT drain your pool just to replace a main drain cover. That would be a waste of water. There will be other covers with the same diameter or other covers that are sold as replicas of your broken cover.

+1 to the comments here. Just find one with the same screw spacing and you will be fine. There should be a number of them out there that will be a perfect fit.

Thank you all for your responses! The person who told me about having to drain is a diver who fixed our pool leak a few months back, but just seemed like his response was WAY too extreme of a solution. Any idea as to what brand my broken cover is from so that I can try to find one that will work? Thanks again so much! So thankful for this forum and community!

Call Inyopools and discuss the dimensions of your cover with them.

Your cover is from Hayward with their logo in the middle.

If you, or someone you know, can dive the pool, this is an excellent replacement. It comes with an adapter plate and various screws that can use the existing holes in the mounting ring to install. Paramount SDX Retro
