I have a cartridge filter...after washing the cartridges the pressure was about 8psi.Last time it cleaned it was right above 10psi...Is that acceptable?

I have good suction at skimmer and jets strength seems fine.

1.5HP single speed pump with Pentair ccp420

Thanks in advance

T,

I have the CCP-520 and my filter pressure is about 1 lb. at 1200 RPM.

As long as you have a good flow of water out of your pool returns and your skimmers work well you are good.

Filter pressure is not an indication of how well your pump is working, it is an indication of how much effort it takes to push water through your filter and plumbing. In most cases, lower is better. The slower the pump runs, and the cleaner the filter is, the lower the pressure will be.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Sounds fine. I have the CCP 320. At 1900 rpm w/ Intelliflo VSP (3hp) pressure is about 4psi when clean and 6 six months later. Flow (I have a meter) is about 65 gpm down to 50 before cleaning.

With my old single speed 1.5 hp it was 12 up to 16 psi and 105 down to 90 gpm. That thing was a beast. Big overkill for 19k gallons.

I've read in several places that anything under 25 psi is okay, but lower is better, and low to mid 10's is pretty normal.
