Looking to Add a Float Switch to the Pump

I have a 24' round above ground pool. The wife maintains the pool. She forgot to clean the skimmer basket at the end of last season until we closed it a couple weeks later (too cold to swim, but too warm to winterize). Burned the pump up. I was out of town, so checking behind her isn't an option. This spring I am going to install a new pump and would like to integrate a low flow switch on the inlet side. A simple float switch with a 24v control circuit and a contactor for the motor should do it. I have parts laying around for the 24v transformer, contactor, and an enclosure. Just need a float switch. I have the piping hard piped with PVC. Plan to cut in a tee with the float switch in a threaded socket. Having trouble finding a float switch on Amazon.

Anyone have a link to a float switch that will serve the function? Thanks.

I really, really like the Grid Controls Flow Switches. Google the manufacturer name and the part number for the 1-1/2" version (57-F4-1000) and you'll find them. They are a little expensive but they are virtually fail-proof.

They have one model with an included outlet to make wiring easy: 57-F3-2500-010

You will need to put an additional On/Off switch in parallel with the contactor so that the pump can turn on and activate the flow switch.

Then, turn off the SPST On/Off switch and the flow switch should then keep the contactor/relay closed unless the flow switch opens.
