Liquid Solar Blanket?

You would be shocked just how low the bar is for people to swear by something. Every scam has someone who swears by it. But in this case they do work, somewhat.

Liquid solar covers create a very thin layer over the top of the pool. You will be able to see it as a sheen, like an oil slick on the water. It reduces evaporation, which is the leading cause of heat loss, and thus does help. It will never help as much as a solar cover and breaks down over time so has to be replaced. I personally hate that sheen, it looks pretty unappealing, and wouldn't want it. Someone would probably counter that a solar cover is even less appealing, to which I counter-counter that they are right but you can remove a solar cover. Once you add this stuff you are pretty much stuck with it until it breaks down. Maybe a scum ball could remove it, but I have never tried.

As Donldson said, yes, they work. But unlike him, I've had no scum problems. I use ladies knee highs as skimmer socks and I suppose that they filter anything like that out. My pool is always super clean.
I live in Canada so regulations for products are different, but I use these Liquid Pool Covers - Ecosavr™
I believe you can get them on amazon.com
I usually tie one to my steps about once a month for my 21' pool and they do make a difference. Good luck!
