I took the pool cover off today. We are opening the pool late because of life and travel. Anyway, the liner is torn away from the bead in two places, about 14" long each. For obvious reasons I don't want to replace the liner. If I have to then we will likely drain the pool and dismantle it. We replaced it two years ago after the old one split and all the water drained during the winter. After thinking about it I think my options are a vinyl repair kit or some kind of waterproof tape like flex seal. Since it’s torn right at the bead I am not sure the vinyl kit will work, partly because it’s the bead and partly because the bead is only about 1/2” wide so there’s not much surface area above the tear. Another option might be to remove the bead from the track, then try to wrap the repair kit over the top of the bead so it gets both sides, however I am not sure the bead will fit back in the track, and that is tough to do. The waterproof tape I can see if I can stick it to the pool wall or the plastic bead track above the liner. If I were to use the waterproof tape I would probably buy enough of it to run all the way around the pool.
