Opened our pool today (little early for east coast) but want to enjoy more of pool time than screen time for kids

Unfortunately, the sand filter is leaking from the top.
Tried the lube to seal and the o ring was bought 2 years back. What could be the reason? Attached multi-port valve is leaking too from top, but replacing it with new one. Was scared if I need to change this entire filter too?
Experts please advise.
