LED too intense

My pool ight was replaced with a white led. It is way to intense, like looking at a cars led high beams. Actually bother my eyes like staring at the sun. Being at the end of the pool you can't help but looking at ir.

Added a dimmer switch but while it reduces the coverage output, the light itself is still super bright/ intense

I ordered a blue lens cover, hoping that will soften it ?

Any other ideas.

I am kicking myself, though that spending the extra $ it would be as nice as my old halegon light, big mistake.

LEDs are more intense than Halogens, it might also be the color temp of the LED. I have found that we don't like lighting above 3200 K and typically stay with soft white LEDs; I think halogens tend to be around 3000 K. I'm not familiar with pool lights but a blue lens cover may not work, you may need a more of a smoked color lens cover. Think of the headlights with the blue tint to them ... they are still bright and give an awful look IMO. Hopefully I'm wrong in your case!

I have one on my 500W old school bulb and it helped. That wasn't it's intent but was a happy little accident.

How much it helped would be as subjective as anything else. Here's to hoping it's enough for you.

Maybe a light diffuser.

Your problem is the color of the light, not the briteness.

Light color is measured in Kelvins and can be adjusted by putting a filter on the light.

Light briteness is measured in Lumens and a dimmer can change the brightness.

I looked up the vivid 360 spa light and noticed there are two.:
cool white temp/wavelength 6500 2950 lumens 300 watts
warm white temp/wavelength 2850 rest the same
I wonder if they installed the 6500 and if so I have them swap it out for the 2850 I would be all set.

Our light has been out for a few years and they have gotten expensive, now I have one that I can't use.
Some times it is better just to leave things alone.
