Leaf Catcher Still Leaking... Tried Everything

We have tried everything that we can think of to stop this from leaking. We have checked every connection, and we have replaced the following:

  • 1. Split hose plunger valve which controls the water from the skimmer inlet and second inlet to main hose to leaf basket before pump
    2. 3' hoses from skimmer inlet and second inlet
    3. Leaf Basket cover and o ring
    4. Air release on top of leaf basket

I have added a link showing what is happening. I am just wondering if we should just get a new pump?

I am desperate for any advice.

I don't understand where the water is coming from when I look at the video...seems to be the top of the pump basket but you changed the o-ring, right?

So is the lid screwed on tight with lube on the o-ring?

If so, and a new lid doesn't fix it, then there must be a crack in the wet end of the pump housing.

If there's a crack in the wet end, ten yes, you'd need a new wet end of the pump. If your motor is still good and not leaking, you would not need to replace that part.

Yes, we have replaced all of that. Are you saying that I can just purchase the leaf catcher portion? I also think that there must be a crack somewhere. Do you have any idea where I would order this or what it is called?

Thanks for your advice.

You DO have the O-ring UNDER the clear lid to the pump basket, and not between it, and the tightening ring... right?

It should be between the clear lid, and the pump basket.

I too have been following this thread with interest.

It looks to me, as other have mentioned.

Bottom to top,
1. First put in basket.
2. Then O-ring
3. Then Clear lid. (it may be easier to put the O-ring in/on the clear lid before putting both on. But clear lid goes above the O-ring.)
4. Then clear lock ring and tighten.
