landscaping around AG pool

Mulch is fine. I don't have any real good pictures on my phone, but here is one I took after my support slipped off its footing after heavy rain and wind. I will eventually put a border around the mulch, but that is looking like a fall project. The only negative with mulch that I can think of compared to rock is the fact that the mulch needs to be replenished over time.

I started off with mulch, but switched to river pebbles the next year. I got tired of the mulch getting scattered all over the yard.

I used a grey crush much like neonsnow78 did, but not as wide. Those little stones can hurt when you step on them.
Next time I do it I will just use 1 foot pavers in sand, not even going to bother putting landscape cloth under like I did last time, I will just spray it down with vinegar/salt/soap solution if any green shows up.

I have river rock with bender board, some potted plants and wrapped in a reed/bamboo type roll.

What is the vinegar/salt/soap solution?

I finally redid the stone around my AGP with 4 x 4 border. Needed about 1 more time of stone but well worth it. I can finally weed whack without throwing stones everywhere. Now I just need to get the grass going again and chop up the rest of the tree. We are leaving the large tree pieces as our kids love to use them as an obstacle course[emoji1]

I have that bamboo fencing around my pool as well, it looks great!

It is starting to wear away a bit after a few years of weathering so I am now considering just painting the outside of the pool.

After the pool was installed and my husband finished the bonding, we put down that black barrier cloth to keep the grass/weeds from coming back. Then covered it with sand we had left over from the install on top and put landscaping edging about 18" out all the way around the pool. Then filled with a delivery of 1" - 3" river rock. It took a 3 ton delivery to go around the 24 ft pool and the whole filter area. My husband didn't want smaller pebble size blowing all around the yard and same thing with mulch when we get bad storms. I'll take a pic when I go out later. Hopefully next year we will add a deck. Unexpected kitchen remodel this year sucked up my deck fund this year. :(
