Krystal Clear Model 637 R Pump not working

I have a Krystal Clear Model 637R Pump hooked up to my Summer Waves Quick Set Pool (8 feet in diameter), and the pump doesn't seem to be working properly. The pump runs for about 15 seconds and then shuts off. I'm then unable to make it run again unless I unplug the pump and open the air release valve. Very small amounts of air come out of the air release valve when I do this.

I have hooked the intake hose to the top pump connection and the outflow hose to the bottom pump connection. The plugs and strainer cap have been removed. The filter is in place. The pump is on a lower surface than the pool. The pool is level. The water level is well above the intake jet nozzle. What gives?

I have a feeling your gfi in the pump plug may be tripping and possibly you have not noticed since you are unplugging it and resetting it when u plug it back in... try a different plug on your house. A gfi can trip if the plug you are using is wired wrong like no ground or hot and neutral reversed

Go to your local hardware store and get one of those testers for testing electrical outlets. They are not expensive and three lights will tell u if they are wired correctly. With a gfi plug in a house it will not even turn on if their is a wiring issue.. could save u some headaches and tell u for sure if it's your plug or pump
