Just wanted to ask for a proven replacement LED for my JandyJLUC10-50 color led. When my fiberglass pool was installed they put a Fusion LED that lasted about 6 years of hardly using it. I replaced it with the Jandy multi color led I listed above. I noticed brown water inside the Jandy today so its toast. I think Jandy maybe bought Fusion? They both used the same docking ring, 12 volt, 10 watt and looked identical.
Is there a time proven multi color light that I can use the same transformer and easily install someone can recommend please?
Thank you

Is there a time proven multi color light...

Nope. We have not seen it yet. Some pool color LED lights last longer then others and 6 years is a good lifetime for those type of lights.

How long a lifespan are you looking for?

The life hours some lights quote are bs I guess unless they are including hours its off too. 🤥
Im unrealistic I guess. Sorry but I hardly use it but turned brown the other day from a leak in the mold I guess.

The only "proven" thing about any color LED light or bulb is that they don't last as long as we think they should. That you got 6 years is amazing.
Regardless the design, they are still small computers installed in an unfavorable environment.

Can't speak to longevity as ours have only been in use for a couple weeks now. But the Pooltone lights from Florida Sunseeker were the cheapest option I could find. Their literature says it fits all 1.5" nicheless fittings; mine were Hayward. Might be worth looking into.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, they are fairly bright, but it depends on the color. Blues and white are the best, green is ok, red is quite dark.

Wanted to provide an update here so folks researching pool lights can make an informed decision. Happy to chime in elsewhere if there is somewhere more relevant.

I bought (3) Pool Tone lights intending to install them myself after our pool contract was complete. Ended up not installing them until the next year, which effectively eliminated my warranty coverage (my mistake, for sure). We used them 3-4 times that season and were mostly happy with their performance. Our only complaint was they sometimes went out of sync where they would be different colors, but that was fairly easy to reset.

This season, from the start, we could not get them to sync at all. Eventually lucked into them all being white at once, we left the color selection alone. We only used them 3 times and then one of them would not come on at all, even after confirming the wiring was intact and the transformer was functioning properly.

Several days later, that same light was found dangling in the poor hanging by the INTERNAL wiring; the female screw in housing had broken apart, see photo below. I disconnected and pulled it out completely. After reconnecting the two remaining lights, a second light would no longer come on. After this we were not comfortable using them and I've disconnected the electric from them. I can't find any reason for the housing to have broken open exposing the wiring.

Wish they would have worked out but I can't afford what was essentially $80 per USE of these lights. Also cannot recommend anyone else take a chance on Pool Tones.

Can you point to those statements here on the forum? Have to admit I have not seen any bad responses about them here on the forum.
I would let them know what you found.
Nothing here on the forum. The only reviews I was able to locate were Google reviews. Partly why I wanted to share my experience was the lack of user feedback on these lights. When I get time to call them I'll report back here with more info. Not out to trash the company by any means, only provide my honest assessment.

Decided to go ahead and call them now while I had a few slow minutes.

The rep was understanding of my concerns but with the warranty period expired, they could not do anything as a full replacement. Instead, he offered a heavy discount for me to buy two new replacement lights. The value is fair so I appreciate that offer. However, I'm undecided on trying these lights again as it's still a decent chunk of money despite the discount.

Ultimately we aren't comfortable buying new lights even with their discount offer. It's too much money to roll the dice on something that has already failed us. It sucks because we liked using the lights and there doesn't seem to be a better performing product out there. Likely going to wait until the technology improves from one of the main manufacturers, or maybe pricing will become more palatable at some point.

Turns out we did a more night swimming these last few weeks than we have all season. And after getting a lot of grief about not having lights we elected to go ahead and order two replacement lights with the discount offered by Florida Sunseeker. I won't install them until next year but will report back on their performance.
