Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

This is our progress as of today. I guess I didn't move far enough south. Oh, and it's 11 degrees . They did get all the drainage installed yesterday before the snow started. Decking supposed to get poured next week if weather cooperates.View attachment 625367
All the white stuff will be gone within a week.

Honestly any rain or precipitation you get will help to settle all the disturbed soil around the pool. The more the better as long as the soil can saturate and there’s no flooding waters of red/brown mud hitting your back porch. It would be better for the decking to go last so that you can get past freezing temps but it’s the PB’s schedule now so it is what it is. Hopefully you’ll get warmer air temps for the decking crew. Working out in muddy cold weather sucks when you’re trying to do flat work.

The plus side - since the pump runs - and I watch the chlorine levels - I have yet (knocks wood) had any algae issues since the pool was built. Also - to maintain the warranty on the pebble finish - I have to do monthly water tests at the builders retail store (2 miles from my house). If I truly closed it - there would be no water movement, could not add chemicals, could not keep it in-balance - and the monthly tests would likely show imbalance.

Got it. You would be in a different situation than me. I have a vinyl pool. Once closed with a cover, water temps below 55 wont have any issues with algae. If there is any at all, its minimal with a slight shock needed at opening. Weather in ATL is definitely all over the place. Been a cold winter so far. Hoping Feb will get back to normal. I would only close it Dec through Feb.

So I think we will just bite the bullet and splurge for the Heat Pump. We were going to wait, but The gulfstream HE150RA can be had for almost $3000 less than the Hayward HP with installation from the PB. I am thinking with the way things are these day, they will only climb in price, not go down. I will plumb it in, and wire it up myself. I did one on my last pool, pretty simple. We are definitely blowing the budget, but we did expect that. You only live once, and we are getting to that age, where you here about someone you know getting sick in some way. And we meet tomorrow morning to go over the pool deck, just to make sure we are on the same page. Things are moving along. So far we are happy with the builder we picked, she's been involved all the way through since the beginning.

Same. I bought a zero turn lawnmower in November when I saw a fair price figuring it was only going to go up in the spring. It wasn't even on sale, but it wasn't jacked either.

I cut the lawn one last time that I didn't need, just to prove it worked and then winterized it. :ROFLMAO:

I think the HP will do fine for you. If it struggles on a particularly cold years like this one, you won't feel like swimming anyway.

Also, about that. For your first year, this one is a toughie. Had you moved 5 years ago, you'd be saying 'this is the coldest it's ever been'. Had you moved 30 years ago, you'd say 'this happened once or twice before..... meh. No biggie'
