All the white stuff will be gone within a week. This is our progress as of today. I guess I didn't move far enough south. Oh, and it's 11 degrees . They did get all the drainage installed yesterday before the snow started. Decking supposed to get poured next week if weather cooperates.View attachment 625367
It's still only 26 out, but that GA sun is melting it already. All the white stuff will be gone within a week.
All the Florida & Louisiana folks feel the same way today!I guess I didn't move far enough south.
Love that pool! I just feel like not winterizing is a waste of EL running it, along with unnecessary wear and tear on the pump. That's just the northerner coming out of me I guess.
Got it. You would be in a different situation than me. I have a vinyl pool. Once closed with a cover, water temps below 55 wont have any issues with algae. If there is any at all, its minimal with a slight shock needed at opening. Weather in ATL is definitely all over the place. Been a cold winter so far. Hoping Feb will get back to normal. I would only close it Dec through Feb.The plus side - since the pump runs - and I watch the chlorine levels - I have yet (knocks wood) had any algae issues since the pool was built. Also - to maintain the warranty on the pebble finish - I have to do monthly water tests at the builders retail store (2 miles from my house). If I truly closed it - there would be no water movement, could not add chemicals, could not keep it in-balance - and the monthly tests would likely show imbalance.
Same. I bought a zero turn lawnmower in November when I saw a fair price figuring it was only going to go up in the spring. It wasn't even on sale, but it wasn't jacked either.I am thinking with the way things are these day, they will only climb in price, not go down
Looks like 70 degrees that week. Good ole GA sun helps too! This is all tentative as far as how the poured decking goes, along with finishing the stone on the wall. Not sure if it can be done then. The sun HAS to be shining and the temp at LEAST 60 degrees. This helps the liner stretch to fit the pool sides and bottoms.
