Is there such a thing as a temp spa cover?

I got a very nice new cover for my spa two months ago.

However, we are beginning a new project in a month to install new pavers around the pool. and the project will most definitely destroy the spa cover I have now due to construction crew, heavy equipment, tools, paver blocks, sand piles, concrete and rebars...and I don't want to have to pay $700 for another 90" diameter cover after the construction process again.

Is there some way I can make a temp round spa cover to keep debris out of the spa during the construction process?

Is there a place I can buy a round piece of styrofoam say 2" thick and 90" diameter?

Some other ideas?

Cheap Intex covers can be found on Amazon in different sizes -

Just find a size that works for your spa. You can also buy cheap solar blankets in round shapes. I floated a cheap bubble blanket on the surface of the water and covered it with an intex cover (mine has a nearly 12ft outer diameter with the coping stones) when I had a bunch of landscaping working done. Spa stayed perfectly clean.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Will look into some of these.

To clarify, this is an inground spa, so there is not a raised edge to stretch a round cover over. Whatever used need to be rigid and weather resistant for say 2 months or so while there will be construction activities.

Could use a cheap square tarp and some sand/water bags.

Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

A couple of sheets of plywood, a few 2x4's and a box of deck screws.

Rigid, solid, and strong enough to stop the errant paver, shovel of sand, or workers foot from going through it.

If you are trying to keep any of the above out, I doubt any sort of tarp or foam panel is going to be up to it.

3/8" ply should be fine. If you want, throw a tarp over the ply to keep water and small debris out (and keep the ply dry so you can re-use it for something else)
