Is it too cold to use hot tub (spa)?

We were planning to use our hot tub tonight, but I see that it will get down to 26 degrees during the night. My question is that once we turn the heater off, some water will stay in the heater. Will it crack the plate or whatever it's touching when it unthaws tomorrow? I mean surely you can use your spa when it gets cold outside???

Water should always be circulating through your heater even with the heater off as long as your pool pump is running.

Are you closing any bypass valves when you turn off the heater
