I just purchased and put up the pool in the subject.
Mind that I have never owned a pool before, so the filtration system is a bit confusing right now.
I have added the sand and salt and have been running the filter for a few hours each day, but reading the manual, it shows I can also set up operating hours for the chlorinator and boost.
Is this necessary? I assumed setting up hours for the filtration was doing all that needs to be done?
Pump is an Intex
ECO20110-2
ECO15110-2

So perhaps you have the ability to program separately the pump run time (filter only) and salt cell? You do want to ensure that the salt cell is operating at a sufficient amount of time each day to product the free chlorine required. Salt cells will not (or should not) be ON when the pump is off. Boost is a term synonymous with super chlorinate for some other models. Generally not needed if the FC is consistently managed per the FC/CYA Levels. Also know that here at TFP we recommend an elevated CYA of 70 to adequately protect the chlorine gas produced by your salt cell.

All of this of course starts with the TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C tets kit, so if oyu don't have one, that needs to be addressed right away. See the links below for more info.
