Hi,

I just bought a small Intex pool and a sand filter. It looks like I need bulkheads/adapters to attach the pump hoses to the pool but they didnt come with the right sizes.

Does anyone have any experience with what I need to get?

Pool Model: Intex 28270NP
Sand Filter model: Intex SF80220-1

Thanks!

I had a similar problem this week -- the original Intex tube connectors on my pool are 1.25" and my new sand filter's connections were 1.5" (38 mm ~ 1.5").

Amazon and other retailers sell these: Intex Replacement Hose Adapter A w/Collar for Threaded Connection Pumps. Those adapters can connect the 1.25" Intex hoses to a sand filter with 1.5" threaded connections. Be sure to verify that your sand filter has 1.5" (or 38 mm) threaded connections before ordering.

Thanks for the reply. I looked further and it seems I will need to buy a cheap cartridge type intex filter that comes with the hoses and fittings to attach to the pool as a start. Then I will need to get the threaded adapters you refer to above, to take those new hoses to convert them to fit to the sandfilter I already have. Seems like a stupid way to do things. At least it isnt much more of a cost, just time consuming having to wait for all these parts.

With my intex, I bought new eyeball returns and intake strainers that fit the larger 1.5 hoses that came with my sand filter/pump. I then cut new holes in my pool to fit. It's really easy to do (there are you tube videos showing exactly what to do). I did this last year, and have not had any leaks or anything. Quite a few people do this so that they can get the full benefit of using the better pumps with the bigger hoses. Good luck.
