Intex Deluxe Wall Mount Surface Skimmer

I hate vague instructions but glad y'all at here. Just purchased this and the blue threaded hose adapter is threaded too much for my PRISM frame. I have like 3 threads and this has more. I'm afraid to cross thread it. Also, this stupid thing floats...away. I realize it's supposed to float, but all the way to the ladder? Lol
The flow adapter doesn't even work in mine. If it does, where does it go?

Hi Christi, I have the same vacuum kit and the flow adapter, (gray top hat looking thingy) fits on one of the 2 inlets under the threaded cover. I don't know what you can do about the hose adapter, mine screws on the other inlet.

I have the same skimmer on my Intex pool and I have a similar issue with the threads. It's not crucial that the adapter seals or anything so that doesn't necessarily have to be tight.
The flow adapter restricts flow at the other inlet if you have two. That will increase the suction on the skimmer.
I'm a little confused why it's floating. The base should be attached the the wall and the basket and float should stay inside of it but floating. A picture of the whole set up may clear this up
