Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has salt cell for an Intex CS 8110 laying around. Mine after 3 seasons has bit the dust and intex wants half the price for shipping it than the price of the part. The Part # is 11374, I was hoping someone might have one before I break down and just order it.
I thought I would just go to the store I got it from and just replace the whole system but all they had was the 7000 gal model. Mine is 10400 so I need the 15000 gal one.
Thanks:mad:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Thing has worked flawless for about 2-3 years. can't remember really. Anyway I started getting the low salt errors even after cleaning so I checked the salt level and got about 2850 ppm. I raised it up to just about 3000 and no luck.
So I did the bypass thing and that bought me a couple of weeks but now I'm not getting hardly any bubbles any more. Also testing the FC right out of the return come back 0.

Yeah sadly. I did find a place on eBay that has a bunch of the newer versions either used or open box with a 14 day no haggle return policy??? So I though I would roll the dice and try so I bid 50 bucks on one and got beat buy a dollar. IDK, guess I should just eat the shipping and buy a new cell?

And then your power unit will die on you?
Replace the whole thing, divide 2-3 years into cost it does make sense.
The Pool Skimmer Girl aka wife gave me the look last year when I told her how much my SWG upgrade cost, haven't heard a tiny little squeek since she has swam in it ;)

Ya know. I kinda wonder if the gallon rating really means anything in the first place. the way I figure it, most of the killing power of the generator takes place in the pipe on the way back into the pool. as long as you can turn the water over it should keep it in range I would think? But I have been known to be wrong:confused:

Heh,

This thread dovetails nicely with my 1st post earlier today.

I successfully did the Intex shuffle for 5 years on my 18,500 gal AGP before I realized I had better things to do with my time than keep Intex SWCG's running. Don't get me wrong, they are a great bang for the buck but by the time it was all said and done, I surely spent as much time/$ on keeping them going as I did on my recently purchased "real" SWCG.

D.

The recommended size is 2 x pool volume as an SWG is so slow in making up lost FC.
But here I am thinking;
You can run your 21 foot pool for two years on a 200$ intex swg
I have run my pools for more then a few years on 200 intex swg's
Both have been under sized both have worked cost per year approx 100$
My new SWG undersized if it works for five years trouble free will cost over 125$ a year
