Intex code 91 (low salt) possible solutions

I know this topic has been beaten to death but i wasnt able to find a viable solution. The SWG on my intex combo unit (26675) has finally thrown the dreaded code 91 for low salt (4th season). I have cleaned the titanium electrode, which made absolutely no difference. Salt is where it needs to be at 3100. The consensus appears to be that the titanium electrode should be replaced with a new one, but intex no longer makes a replacement. And they don't seem to be available anywhere else.
It sounds like the only option is to add a stand alone SWG, which are not terribly expensive. Does anyone know whether i will be able to use the controls on the original unit to operate the pump only? The new SWG will be hard piped in place of the old receptacle that held the electrodes and will be controlled from there; Im going to plug it into a separate outlet. Would that work? Can i leave the two plugs from the old electrodes unplugged? Is there anything else i can try (short of messing with the internal wiring)? Thank you

For those wondering (im sure there are many), this doesn't work. I took the plunge and purchased and stand alone swg. Worked fine at first but then the "low flow" code popped up. No matter how i rearranged the set up, it would continue coming back. Assuming it has more to do with the programming than actual flow but the combo unit will not work. My last resort is replacing it with a stand alone pump, connected to the stand alone swg i already have.
