Intex Air Jet Valve leaking when pump is not running

Hi!

I just set up a new Intex metal frame pool this weekend. The filter pump has been running perfectly, no leaks or issues. BUT, when I turn off the pump, the air jet valve leaks. There appears to be nothing wrong with it. It is clean of debris and the seal appears to be fine, as does the o-ring. It's confusing since it doesn't leak when the pump is on. What do I do?

Do I have to put on the little black cap every time we turn the pump off?

I don't know the answer so here is a bump to get more eye on it.

If water is going into the pool through this valve, the valve is defective. If water is coming out of the pool, it's the wrong valve for the port and needs to be changed.

I thought the black cap was to be used if you didn't like or want the aeration feature. In theory there should be a backflow valve maybe made of rubber insive the valve body that prevents water from flowing out. I would call Intex for replacement.

Hi, I've had my Intex Pool for 4 years now. I've tried different valves there and have never got the aerator to stop leaking. I lost another inch of water the last few days with it constantly dripping. I just put the black cap back on it and the leak stopped. Next time I update or change out the valves, I'll use one without the aerator option. I hope that helps.
