IntelliFlo Communication Error

Hi all,

This morning, I realised that my IntelliFlo pump wasn't running. I checked the app for my IntelliConnect and saw the pump disabled. I enabled it and all good again.

Then I checked my notifications in the app and I see multiple errors, at this time all inactive:

So I guess my pump went inactive yesterday evening.

I checked the cable between the pump and the Intelliconnect and it looks intact and well connected.

Any suggestions what I should do / check?

There are 50 different IntelliFlo pumps..

Which specific IntelliFlo do you have??

sorry for my slow response - I've been going back and forth with Pentair support on this and they keep telling me "it's because of poor wifi" :rolleyes:. While I don't have brilliant wifi at that spot, my Unifi controller tells me it never looses connection. I simulated a connection drop by blocking the device from the WiFi access point and then the error in the app was a clear "Device Offline". So sent that back to them - now they say "we're going to send it to our technical team".

Anyway, the pump is an IntelliFlo VSF (356928) - I purchased a replacement RS485 cable on eBay (it was still in its original packaging) and yesterday used it to replace the current cable. But still the same connection error.

Using the pump's control panel, check to see what version firmware is installed...

At one point, the VSF pumps had a F/W bug that would intermittently drop communications. But, I don't think it disabled anything..

I don't know much about the IntelliConnect, but it seems the initial units were defective, and had to have some kind of upgrade.. You might want to search our site and see what you can find.

You have already spoken with Pentair Support, and they should have checked the firmware compatibility of your IntelliConnect and Intelliflo pumps.

If you have not spoken with them about that then call them back.
