Installing 2014 Kayak Pool Liner. Does it have to be purchased from Kayak Katalogue?

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time posting a thread. I am looking for some help on my Kayak pool. We bought a house that has a 2014 Kayak Pool 16x24. Last year, the liner wore out and we lost most of the water out of the pool. I called the manufacturer and was told that warranties do not transfer with ownership, so we would not qualify for discounts on a new liner. We ended up closing the pool at that point. Fast forward to last week, we order a pool liner from poolproducts.com (link below). The cost was $304.00 and we installed it last weekend. Fits great, looks great, and no wrinkles. We began refilling the pool gradually, it has around 3ft of water currently in it. Yesterday, my husband noticed a 3 foot area where the liner has detached from the track. He is thinking that the type of bead on the liner may not be correct. He called a different company, poolsupplies.com that only makes Kayak pool liners up to year 2000, and they told him that all liners after year 2000 are proprietary to Kayak and that they have to be ordered through the company. The liner that i purchased below didn't state any years. I called and they said they are made for newer Kayak pools, however, couldn't give me the years that they apparently work for.

I am having a hard time finding specific information. I have seen several posts about people replacing liners on older Kayak pools. Several Questions that I have are, are Kayak liners for newer pools really patented to Kayak? Did we perhaps miss an area when installing that lifted? If the liner that we purchased is for older Kayak pools, is there a way to make it work? When I talked to poolproducts.com today, they said that they would prepay shipping and I could send it back, I want to check first before we drain the pool and attempt to fold and box up the liner that we bought to ship back. Thanks in advance!
