Hi, I recently purchased a house with a large pool, however, the previous homeowner removed the ladder in the deep end and the 2 handrails for the stairs. I measured the pool ladder anchors (center to center) and they are 18 inches apart. I can't find a ladder that meets these specs. What should I do? Are there ladders that are flexible enough to fit into that space? I know there was a ladder there before because I have seen it in pictures. The pool is about 20 years old, inground, with a 2 year old liner. The handrails measure 8 inches, center to center, and I have been able to find those online. Thanks!

While the "standard" for pool rails has remained the same for decades, the one for pool ladders has changed to about 20" c-c. The diameter of the material is still 1.9", but you will have drill and add at least one new anchor for the ladder. You may also find that the distance for the anchors from the edge of the pool is now different and both anchors will have to be replaced. You also need to be concerned about bonding the ladder unless you get one like the Saftron that is plastic coated. If the existing anchors are not damaged they can be removed and reused but it is a lot of work. I have always just used new anchors when replacing an older ladder and just filled the old anchor cups with concrete. No, ladders don't flex.
You can also get a ladder like this at Amazon that uses a deck mounting system:
