I was thinking of purchasing a Haviland I-Helix pool hose for a manual vacuum not an automatic cleaner. The hoses they sell at the local pool stores around here are cheap plastic Crud that rips every time I vacuum. I've wasted my money with them. I see reviews about leaking at the cuff, etc. I miss my old pool hose. It lasted forever. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I can relate to your situation. I've replaced the cuff on my hose and saving other items in an effort to make them last as long as possible. I dread the idea of shopping for good replacements because of concerns for both quality and cost. I don't have any experience with the Haviland I-Helix brand.
