In ground spa jet removal

Trying to remove spa jets to un clog them. 25 year old pool/spa was built with american products parts.
Put a camera in the hole and can see a hex nut i think is 5/8”. Put a socket on it and i can turn it.
Dont know which way to turn or push it?.

Spa jet nozzles are usually 9/16" and unscrew counter clockwise.

+1 Regardless of the size socket, it could also be "bayonet" style and just a 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Don't force it.

Mine (Waterway) require several turns. Some nozzles are 1/4 turn others are fully threaded.

Thanks mine were 5/8 and just screwed out counter clockwise. Lot of pieces of leaf basket found blocking the jets.
Pressure at the filter was 28 now 15
The cleaner is flying around the pool now. Thanks so much

Mine turn out to be 5/8 and unscrewed counter clockwise
Found all three jets that are fist point after filter were filled with plastic pieces that look like parts of leaf basket.
The results were amazing. My pool cleaner is flying around climbing up 9 foot pool walls trying to climb out of the pool. My water is crystal clear.
So many issue solved by this maintenance. Thanks do much
