Hybrid Pool - Toronto area contractors?

We inherited an old hybrid pool (concrete bottom/fiberglass panel sides) when we purchased our home in 2017 and although it has served it's purpose as a pool with functioning equipment and no leaks, it could definitely use a refresh. I've read many forums about our options but having difficulty finding someone in the Greater Toronto area with experience in restoring hybrid pools. We are experiencing the typical challenges that come with age; worn concrete bottom, blisters in walls, aged seams, and cracks in concrete deck. Anyone know of any contractors in GTA? TIA.
@tricia44 Did you ever find a contractor? I am in Burlington with the same problem.

Or anyone else have thoughts ?

Hi @Waynemad,

I found someone and he's based in Dundas! Our neighbour's were aware that we have had many pool contractors over but none with hybrid experience. They sent over their contractor when he was installing a new liner for them and finally! Someone with the experience and pictures to prove it! So.....we converted our hybrid to liner this past summer and we are very happy with the results. Here are the steps as I recall:

1. Removed concrete around edge (already had separated sections). This was to update all lines and install new electrical for lights.
2. Replaced skimmer and jets. Replaced all other equipment as it was very old, added salt system, added a heat pump.
3. Installed track to receive liner. They had to trim all of the panels to keep everything inline with the existing concrete. Poured and stamped concrete.
4. Gel blisters and seams - grinded, repaired with Bondo auto fiberglass filler, sanded. Minor repairs to floor.
5. Installed a liner pad on walls for additional protection against any missed rough spots.
6. Installed new tan liner.
7. Installed umbrella holders and deck jet.
8. Separately - patched any uneven concrete pool decking and resurfaced with rubber paving.

Hope this helps.

Wow, that's nice. I tried for 2-3 years to find someone to convert my hybrid pool to a liner pool with no success. Ended up replacing the walls with gunite. Probably cost twice as much but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Looks really nice! What was the name of the contractor? I am located in the GTA as well and looking for contractors to work on my hybrid pool.
