How much space to play volleyball?

Attention all pool owners with a volleyball net! We are in the designing phase of our pool and are trying to decide where to put a volleyball net. How much room on each side do you need to comfortably play volleyball? I'm trying to get away with as little room as possible to free up some space for other features. Thanks!

Also, I am new to troublefreepools. How do I post this thread to more than one forum? Will it be seen more in a different area? Thanks!

We use about 8-10 feet on each side. We use just under half of our 40' long pool when the net is up, so 20' divided in half for each side - so about 8-10'.

As for the multiple posts, I'd just leave it here and post as much as you want to bump it up and keep it active for viewing. The title is eye-catching and should get plenty of attention.

This is exactly the info I was looking for-thanks! We are trying to decide between a 20x40 rectangular pool or a more expensive "T" pool to accommodate everything we are hoping for. How deep is your deep end? Do you have a diving board? Do you you have a tanning ledge in your shallow end? I would love to see a picture if you wouldn't mind!
