Hi Everybody

I am really looking for pool season to kick back in. I have a 15k gallon pool and got a variable speed Pentail pump. I am trying to figure out the optimum GPM to set the pump. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks and have a good one

You run a pump for a reason. The rpm needed to facilitate skimming is the minimum. After that it is to chlorinate. Appears you do not have a SWCG so as you add liquid chlorine each day, you just need to be sure the pump is running for at least 30 minutes after you add the chlorine.

Depends what equipment you have that are flow dependent.

Tell us what you got in your signature.

No heater and no SWG you can run your pump at whatever speed you get good skimming.

G,

I suspect that you believe in the old myth about having to "turnover" your pool water x times a day.. It is just not true...

I run my 3 HP IntelliFlo 24/7, mostly at 1200 rpm and have no idea what my GPM is, as it is not relevant. I run at 1200, because that is a couple hundred faster than what my SWCG needs to work.. At this speed my skimmer work also.

I have simple set up and no heater so running slow makes the most sense for me..

To run 24/7 costs me less than $20 bucks a month...

Thanks,

Jim R.
