Im a new pool owner after using some online calculators I have come up with a total gallon size of around 17000 for my pool. I asked my pool builder what the total gallon size of my pool is and their number was 29162 which seems really high to me but I don't build pools for a living. The only difference from this picture is we moved the spa back to where it is half in and half out of the pool. Can someone give me a hand? Screen Shot 2021-01-02 at 10.13.41 AM.jpg

The pool is very similar in dimensions to my pool, which ranges from 16.5' to 23' in width and 32' in length with a 7' deep end. I have a 7' spa. My pool is about 18,000 gallons. I would put your pool in the same volume range. No way 29,000+ gallons is accurate. You can play with the numbers yourself on the old pool math page, under Estimating Pool Volume.

Here's a pic of my pool for reference.

Good luck with the build!

A pure rectangle, 24' x 23', going 3'6" to 6' in depth is 27859, your PB is crazy. But in general, I dont think that may people actually know how many gallons are in their pool. Based upon what a lot of visitors around here post for gallons, I think most people are off by at least 5K gallons, if not 10K.

Im a new pool owner after using some online calculators I have come up with a total gallon size of around 17000 for my pool.
I used your basic dimensions of 14ft 2 in by 33ft 9in and averaging your depth to create an imaginary rectangle. This provides a volume of just over 17,000 (excludes the volume on your steps and some lost to your spa being partially in that imaginary rectangle).

Then using your 8ft diameter spa but note only that it is really a donut with a true depth only in the middle section and shallower depth over the seats. I used 5ft for the center diameter which leaves 1.5ft over the seats. I used a depth of 3ft in the center and 1.5ft over the seats. This calculates to a volume of just over 800gals for the spa.

So adding together you have at 17,800 gals and possibly a little more depending on your slope from shallow to deep end.
Hope this helps.

If you ever have to drain your pool - even if it is not fully drained - take note of your water meter before you start filling and then after - the difference will be the volume of your refill from whichever level you drained to.

Irregular Pool Shape Area Calculator
Area of Polygon by Drawing is a neat website for plotting all those Freeform pools.[The default shape on the graph is a pentagon but you can add points by pressing the up arrow and I got bored pressing it well after making a 100+ sided shape. If you zoom out on the graph you can make your Freeform pool shape with just a few measurements and round off all the extra points.

The area is shown up top at all times and multiply it by the average depth for cubic feet. Multiply that by 7.481 gallons per cf and it should be pretty accurate.
