How do I determine a fiberglass pool manufacturer?

[Confused about pool]

Hello! First time poster. I bought a house with an installed fiberglass pool but the previous owner didn't know anything about it. I found some numbers on the riser to one of the stairs. I couldn't read it even with a mask and snorkel. I tried the old waterproof paper and pencil routine to make a rubbing. It wasn't as successful as I had hoped. I eventually used silly putty to make the impression and now have the entire number. I assume it is the manufacturer and a serial number. The first 3 letters are VPS which I assume is the manufacturer. Does anyone know who that is or a way to find out from the sting of letters and numbers who makes the shell?

I dont know for sure, but Viking Pools is a major mfr of fiberglass pools, which might be the first 2 letters. Good a place as any to start.

I think San Juan pools are the largest fiberglass pool manufacturer, but of course there a many others. Your best bet is to look at their websites and try to match the shape with their pools with yours.

BMK & sktn77a, thank you so much for your replies. It looks to be a Viking model "Key West". It is the same shape, swim-out and stairs are in the same place and the serial number ends in "KW" which I'm guessing stands for model "Key West" I've called the manufacturer of the shell and they are researching the serial number for me. Thanks again, I don't know how much time it would have taken me to come across this info with out being pointed in the right direction. I sincerely appreciate it!
