Hot Tub runs (almost) all of the time

I have a Celebrity Hot Tub made by Marquis. It is set to the "Rest" mode which means that it is supposed to come on every 12 hours, run a filter cycle and bring the tub up to temperature, and then shut off until the next cycle 12 hours later.[/FONT]

However it runs (almost) all the time, often in the middle of the night when I'm trying to sleep with my open window near the tub. Very annoying. My dealer wants big bucks to come out and check it and says a new controller unit may cost $1,000 or more.

Have you tried to turn down the temp so that it isn't working so hard? Then just turning it up again when you want to use it.

My tub has several settings that might be impacting your run cycles. I think my tub turns on and checks temp once per hour and runs as needed to heat to temp. This usually only lasts a few minutes and I am not sure if you can change the frequency, check the manual for your tub. The other is the filter frequency and duration. I can set how often it comes on to filter the tub and how long it will run. Mine is also set to filter every 12 hours and it is set to run for an hour. One time the kids were messing with the buttons and got the filter duration set to 6 hours or something and it took me a while to figure it out.
