I have a gecko heater in my hot tub and noticed a leak coming from within it. When I opened it up- looks like the leak is through a component that goes into the metal tube. Is it a thermistor and is this a normal failure of one? Should I just buy a new thermistor and replace this one? I don’t think the leak is through the threads but is through the actual part as the drips are collecting at the top where the electrical connection is. Pictures attached. Thanks!

Close, but not a thermistor. It's a pressure/flow switch and you can get them for less than $50. Try SpaCare, Hot Tub Outpost, etc.

If you can, time the replacement with a drain & refill. The water erupting out of the port is more likely to rush your install and crossthread the switch. Goes without saying, but you'll need fresh teflon. Don't overtighten.
