Living in Tampa, FL and trying to enjoy a 10,000 gallon salt water pool. Air temp 95F, pool temp 94F humidity 79% and dew point 76F. After reading various threads, still trying to figure out how to get the water cooler to enjoy our new pool. The Glacier cooler seems to do well in drier climes, but evaporation doesn’t seem to work in subtropical climate conditions. So what does work…anyone figured it out?

Do you have a screened enclosure over your pool? That knocks a significant amount of sun and UV off from the pool. In addition, I had a canvas top attached to half of my cage (it's hurricane rated), so half of my pool is in the shade. My pool never gets above 89-90, and feels cool when it's 100 out. Of course, my heater runs a bit more during the colder months.

Though not quite as tropical as you we have our share of humidity & heat (day & night). IMG_7328.jpeg
My return fountain really does help.
It’s cheap (about $20 or less on amazon) so definitely worth a shot.
If you have the ability you can run 2 of them. They’re not an overnight success once the pool gets really hot & may need some time to see progress but if started early they can certainly help keep it from getting too hot.

No, PoolBrews no enclosure. Going for that Palm Springs vibe. Obviously, we forgot California doesn’t have the same climate as Florida. May end up trying some type of shade as you’ve done. Thanks for the suggestion!

Mdragger88, fountains seem the easiest and most cost-effective way of lowering pool temps at least a little bit. However, I’d gladly spend for something advertised as “Glacier Cooler” especially for my smaller pool if it would actually do the job in Florida! Thanks for the suggestion!

Here’s one interesting thread
