Hi folks,

I bought a Solar Breeze NX2 recently and am pretty happy with it - but I have to move my Triton PS robotic cleaner into the corner of the pool each day to stop and pile up the electricity cord outside the pool to stop it getting caught up.

Solar Breeze suggest weighting the cable with hose weights to get it 2 inches below the surface - but most weights are for a large hose rather than a electricity cable and have too big a gauge.

I ended up buying these - Polaris 165 Hose Weight # 6-110-00 - which are a bendable metal strip that I snapped in half and then twisted around the cable about 6-8ft apart. That seems to be working moderately well - I need to fiddle with the distances a bit more.

I do have a question though - does anyone know what they are actually made of? I'm slightly nervous about having something made of metal submerged in the pool 24x7 and that messing with the pool chemistry.

On a different note - any other ideas for things I could use to weight the cable?

Thanks - I appreciate it. It stands to reason they would be okay - they are sold as a hose weight for use in pools after all - but I was just curious as to what they were actually made out of.

I'll check out the plastic rings as well - thanks for the tip.
